Blame

Let’s talk about blame. It’s easier to recognize the blame we carry towards others and remain oblivious to the ways we blame ourselves. The way we blame other people is manifested outwardly and the way we blame ourselves is manifested outwardly. This manifests in the thoughts we choose to think, the people we choose to have in our lives, and the way we choose to address everyday situations. With everything drawing our attention to an external source we neglect the gravitational pull of what we really exists internally. Because we don’t recognize our own inner struggle that subconsciously dictates our choices, when we take offense to the actions of other’s we eliminate the power of freedom that exists in accountability. Blame and accountability provide us with two different atmospheres, and we get to choose which one we are going to live in. We can either live in our emotions or in power. Are we reactional or positional? That is the question. Lately, I have been doing some free writing on blame. What I learned is that I was living my life from a reactional state of mind. I found that as it pertained to people, while I did blame them for mistreating me, I also found that the way they treated me is exactly how I felt about myself. My inner blame was being manifested outwardly creating a toxic pattern in my life. Luke 10:19 says, “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” God has given us His ability to cause circumstances that are out of alignment with His will to be in alignment once we are in right position with Him. The first thing that needs to be in alignment is our thinking. Proverbs 3:6 AMP says, “In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. We always think of applying this scripture to external situations but not what’s going on internally. God wants to remove the crookedness in our thoughts. He wants to remove the thoughts that lack love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. He wants to remove the obstacles that block the way in our mind but first we must be intimate with Him. Have you been intimate with the Faithful One in the midst of betrayal? Have you been intimate with Peace in the midst of chaos? Have you been intimate with Love in the midst of fear? Again, are we going to live in our emotions or in power? Either that which is on the outside of us determines our state of mind or He who is inside of us determines our position.
